Student Financial Aid

One of the first steps to choosing the right college should be applying for student financial aid. Many people believe that school is much more expensive than it actually is. Although some schools are expensive, there is most likely a school near you that will accept federal student financial aid and meet your financial standards. You should know that not every distance learning course or online degree is accredited and/or eligible for federal student aid. To find out whether you can receive federal student aid for your program, check with your school's financial aid department. For more information about distance learning, click here.

Question: Are there scholarships for students who are younger than usual? I'm 17 and will have my associates in May?

Question: I have a scholarship requiring a 3.2 and I have a 3.15 at the end of semester. Will it get taken away?

I can't finish my degree without this scholarship and I've already emailed them asking if they'd let me wait until after the grade from my summer class gets in to see if I can still have my scholarship but they haven't replied yet. I'm just really worried because they're not even bad grades I just had 2 D's in really hard classes last semester and they brought me down, which is why I'm taking the summer class to make up for the D.

Question: Why do people take student loan?

According to google, it's a loan that helps students pay for tuition, books, etc. But why do people use it? It's gonna land them in debt for months or years. They know their financial abilities, they know about the fee of the school. Then why did they pick schools with such high fees if they know they couldn't pay it and would be in debt? There are lots of schools around the world with affordable prices.

Question: I need $10,000 for college.?

I have a savings account and am working but even with all of that, there s a $10k gap in my budget for this upcoming year. I m not receiving help financially and am essentially being kicked out for the next year. I don t qualify for loans and I don t qualify as an independent student so I can t get gov t assistance unless my mother fills out the FAFSA, which she won t do. Yes, I am applying for scholarships, but I have to plan for the possibility that I won t get them. Any ideas?

Question: I'm a college student with a job on campus: What can/should I do about a boss who told me that it would be non-students working yet it IS ->?

students working including some with far less experience than me, even though my schedule DOES allow me to work at a variety of events? I feel like my supervisor lied to me about this and remain very upset .. it's not much more than minimum wage but I'm definitely qualified for such work and have made changes to my schedule in order to be available if called upon .. there are even times he's been there working (even though he shouldn't have to) so it can't be a matter of not having money allocated to doing so, or is it? First two repliers seem to be missing the point. He'd said it would be non-students working at events then has students with less experience than me working them .. even though it has no effect on the number of hours I can work at that time of year.
