Paralegal Studies
The Paralegal Studies associate's degree program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both the theory and application of the procedures used in law offices by paralegals, enabling them to assist attorneys in areas such as research, reporting, and the preparation of legal documents, agreements, exhibits, and other relevant tasks prior to trial. Students are also provided with client interview skills, basic investigative techniques, how to conduct legal research, and the art of briefing case law. Post-graduate employment is primarily in private law offices, but placement opportunities also exist in bank trust departments, insurance companies, government at all levels, and paralegal-only services. |
