Personal Fitness Trainer
The KTI Professional Fitness Trainer Diploma program leads into a variety of interesting and challenging training techniques in exercise programming, interpersonal communication and relations, and marketing. The student will be trained in four core areas: soft skills, exercise programming, performing client evaluation and training regiment, and understanding principles of management. The successful graduate will gain knowledge in subjects pertaining microcomputer usage, anatomy and physiology, business management, exercise, kinesiology, and nutrition with a variety of hands-on experiences, which directly address the employers need for employees in this vocation. A sound knowledge is given in CPR, First Aid, and AED training, and other course work to support the fitness professional core areas of knowledge. The core parts prepare the student for the in depth knowledge of the clients need of weight loss/gain, program prescription, business related skills and procedural routines associated with fitness training. Topics associated to this area of study are techniques and principles, business ethics, and training procedures. This program will provide the student with an enhanced skill set in all four core areas listed above enabling the successful graduate to function in a wider variety of positions in the gymnasium and fitness clubs. The working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, kinesiology, fitness labs, and an array of other coursework will enhance both the written communication and physical preparation and will position the graduate to serve an employer as a personal trainer, fitness club instructor, or specialized strength, flexibility, and sports and functional training to special populations. The successful graduate from the Personal Fitness Trainer program will be prepared for an entry level position as a personal trainer, fitness club instructor, or specialized strength, flexibility, and sports and functional training to special populations. Students will receive valuable instruction and be provided with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to qualify for Personal Fitness Trainer positions in gyms, fitness centers, private studios, corporate wellness programs, or start their own business. |
