Due to the recession, many campus-based schools have been forced to reduce their offerings in order to adhere to their budgets. As a result, many degree candidates may be forced to choose a new course of study after they have already completed some requirements, which can prove to be quite frustrating.

For example, school administrators at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University's West campus have announced that the college will no longer offer two bachelors degree programs, The Arizona Republic reports.

Administrators say that because enrollment numbers were lower than they originally expected, there are no longer enough students to make the programs viable.

Fortunately, there are many online college degree programs that could help business degree candidates finish their coursework efficiently. Furthermore, students whose degree programs have been cut may be able to catch up on requirements for similar courses of study, which could put them on the fast track to a high-paying career.

Payscale.com, a research company, says median earnings of individuals with bachelors degrees in business range from $38,361 to $75,756, depending on occupation.
