Students who are considering enrolling in a graduate programs at a campus-based or online school but are not sure which subject they wish to study may be able to complete their admissions requirements without having to take many different examinations.

Previously, students who were planning to pursue a masters degree in a business-related field could be required to take both the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) and the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), depending on the program requirements of their intended school.

Now, increasingly more business schools are beginning to accept both the GRE and the GMAT - a practice that could enable prospective students to apply to many colleges without making the process more difficult.

Since the Educational Testing Service (ETS) - which administers the GRE - began tracking admissions information, nearly 200 business schools have begun accepting the exam as part of their applications, according to U.S. News and World Report.

More than 3,200 graduate and business schools across the globe currently accept the test, according to the ETS website.
